UCU Canons 67 Kyambogo Warriors 87
In what seemingly was tagged to be one of the biggest games of the weekend, didn't quite live to our expectation.
With Ivan Enabu crossing camps and seeing him clad in the Warriors outfit, questions were being asked as to how well he would co-ordinate with Ronnie Kaseu and all those questions were answered on court that day.
Ivan was brought as a substitute on the second quarter and what difference he did bring. Officially releasing Ronnie Kaseu to his favorite shooting guard role and oh my did he punish the Canons.
The quick decision making, good ball handling and athleticism he brings to the KYU Warriors side has given them another great dimension in their offensive play. They are surely going to be a force to reckon with this season.
With Mr. Stephen Okias doing what every big forward would do, and sinking double figures for the Warriors, one can wait and see how notorious these Warriors are going to be this season.
On the other side, UCU Canons bought Sudi Ulanga who with time i beleive will be a great asset to their side. Having just recovered from malaria and not trained enough with the team, we could clearly see something lacking in his game. But with that deadly cross over dribble he has and the shooting ability and command for the game, time will tell how far he goes.
Martin Okwako also another new signing from the KYU Warriors to UCU Canons had quite a balanced game cleaning up the board, holding together the defense and with his experience and balance he brings to the squad, he is quickly proving to be a great signing.
Stephen Mwesigye however did have a great game with compatriot Geoffrey Omondi all having splendid games but where i think the Canons were really hurt was on their bench.
In the off season they lost quite a number of players to other clubs and did not quite restore the gaps that were left behind by the departure of like say the Enabu brothers and i think that will prove to be a loop hole in their campaign.
