Manchester United 5:0 Wigan Athletic
Wigan will bemoan the harsh sending-off of Conor Sammon at 1-0, but United were good value for their win and are making ominous strides towards the Premier League summit."
Liverpool FC 0:0 Blackburn Rovers
Steve Kean looked impassive at the final whistle but he must have been elated. Real spirit shown here by Blackburn but this result is a major disappointment for Liverpool and manager Kenny Dalglish
West Brom 0:0 Manchester City
Manchester City dropping points is a rare thing this season. Them failing to score is even rarer. Credit goes to West Brom who were outstanding at the back and fully deserve a point that their fans cheered like three. City's Premier League lead is now down to goal difference, and even that is growing smaller by the week. League on."
Chelsea 1:1 Fulham
Chelsea will feel they had enough chances to win two games in the closing stages but their lack of urgency in the first half ultimately cost them and Fulham's spirit and organisation probably meant they deserved their slice of luck."
It's been a long day of action already, so before we set our sights fully on Stoke v Aston Villa, here's what our Boxing Day reporters have made of the drama so far...

Lets Analyze Sports........
DA GOLOLA CONTROVERSY
In a weekend marred with plenty of action, a kick boxing intercontinental title was at stake and this saw Moses Golola of Uganda promise to kick Andras Nagy till he becomes black.
Well after all the hype and talk, action ensued at about 11:15pm at Hotel Africana and my word was the crowd huge or what!
The game aired live on NTV saw Uganda's Golola Moses start real hard and aggressively. However, as the rounds went on and on, he wore down and Andras Nagy gained momentum.
After the fight was done, the occassions MC Mr. Roger Mugisha read out the results which up to now are not clear. Lots of controversy enveloped the results announced.
This all comes from a country where lots of drama and wonders is a life time guarantee.
A re-match has been set for the month of April next year and this should be enough to put all the wrinkles in the name of uncertainities to rest.
UGANDA CRANES BAGS THE 12TH CECAFA TITLE
Saturday was the day set for the clash of the regional titans. The Rwandese Amavubi went head to head with the Uganda Cranes.
In a tournament which received Ug Shs 823 million from Serengeti Breweries Limited; supposed to cover the fees of the tournament such as the air tickets of all delegates, accomodations and prize money to mention but a few.
Meddie Kagere and Olivier Karekezi who turned out joint top scorers gave the Ugandan defense reason to scratch their heads after conceding an early goal from the former Ugandan now Rwandan winger Meddie Kagere.
A come back inspired by isaac Isinde and an own goal by Olivier Karekezi led to an extra time hussle. That wasn't enough to separate the two opponents.
Finally after the spot kicks Uganda Cranes had Abel Dhaira to thank after pulling out two spectacular saves to win it for the Cranes.
FUBA PLAY OFF FINALS:
DMARK POWER CONTINUE THEIR RESURGENCE TO LEAD THE SERIES 3:2
One may wonder why on earth we have games back to back. I mean this happened in the regular season against Magic Stormers and it was clear they were stretched past their limit.
DMark Power and Kyambogo Warriors clashed on Saturday night in Game Four with the Warriors leading 2:1, but the fight Power showed in their game 3 win came in strong and it would take an entire team effort to pull this off. Power winning 78:77
Warriors, Ivan Enabu's game high 27 points were not enough to pull Warriors out of the jaws of a second defeat to a resilient DMark Power side.
Power won this game defensively, their 3-2 zonal defense has been largely effective in keeping off the post-man offense which exposed them in Game One and Two.
In such a defensive strategy, they have numbers around the paint area helping cut-off the big-man threat while restricting them to shooting from outside of the arc, and offensively bursting out with the blistering transition which is why they are the Number One seeded side in as far as Ugandan Basketball is concerned.
However, Game 5 on Sunday came with a fatigue element on both sides, but that was not so much going to affect the DMark Power side which has come from the jaws of losing the series to over-turning the odds, and now lead 3:2.
At one point, leading the Warriors by 15 points at the end of the 3rd quarter [Power 65:50 Warriors]. With the likes of Richard Balemwa and Ikong turning up the heat and leading the assault against the Warriors.
The final score on the day was DMark Power 78:70 KYU Warriors. This has left a bitter taste in the mouths of the Warriors fans.
After all has been said and done, Game Six is set for Wednesday 14th December at the YMCA.
Bushcourt swept the Div III series after mauling City Oil 81:57 to win the best of 5 series [3:0].
In the Division II Game III the Vegetarians were seeking to win the series after beating Rez Life twice. Could they win it?
Rez Life ,however, had other ideas and they hang on till late to win the Game 4 by a point 56:55, to take the game for a decisive set. Vegetarian's inspirational players like Jurua Vinnie and Richard will have to come good in the decisive set if they are to win the title in the Div II catergory.
In the FUBA's Lady's Category, Team Lady Canons had a 4:0 clean sweep over second best KCC Leopards whose experience couldn't save them.
Lady Canons out-ran, out-classed and out-smarted the KCC Leopards and have been head and heels over the rest in the ladies catergory the entire season.
With players like Brenda Mbone, Maureen Amoding, Purity and Lorraine Akinyi as well as the new players coming into the squad goes to say it all. The Lady Canons side have been together for a while and brought in young fast players who have gelled into their system and are looking invincible atleast for now.
Congratulations to Lady Canons and Bush Courts for winning their title's in their respective divisions. Keep on with the hard work.
EPL
Usual wins for the traditional big boys in the Premiership Manchester United , Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC. The clash between the top and the fifth promises to be a mouth watering game.Manchester City and Cleasea With the lead cut to 2 points for now.
Manchester United 4 Wolverhampton 1
Arsenal FC 1 Everton 0
Liverpool 1 Queen Park Rangers 0
Stoke City 2 Tottemham Hotspurs 1
In other related news, the el classico was quite a spectacle with an approximated 2 billion people watching the game live. And it did not disappoint; in drama, goals, clashes and controversy to mention but a few.
Karim Benzema got Madrid a goal up in the 22second following an error in clearance by Valdes, but Madrid failed to extend the lead shortly after and Ronaldo couldn't be more disappointed in himself. With two golden opportunities which he would ordinarily dispatch on a normal day, found him wanting.
And Barcelona made them dearly pay with goals from Alexis Sanchez their summer signing, a Marcelo own goal and Fabregas header sealed it for the Catalan giants in Santiago Bernabeu.
MONDAY NEWS.....
Chelsea's playmaker Juan Mata has gone on to psyke the team up ahead of their clash with the EPL leaders Manchester City, saying that nothing is impossible, as he continues to rule Chelsea out of the Premier League Title race.
The Spaniard believes that a win for Chelsea would make all the difference to his team title challenge.
He believes a win would reinvigorate Chelsea's Premier League hopes.
The Blues lie 10 points behind the leaders Manchester City.
We all know the play makers will try to engineer their best creatively, but like we have seen in other seemingly "big game" fixtures, this game will be won and lost in two area's; the middle of the park and defensive agility.
If Chelsea keep on playing the high line defense hapharzardly with all that space between the wing backs, they may be punished. And i would love to see how Malouda, Mata, Meireles, Drogba can torment the Lescott, Company, Richards and Gael Clichy's defensive partnership.
And can Chelsea match and contain the offensively threat and energy of Yaya Toure, David Silva, Balotelli and Kun Aguero ?
Its more than three points at stake here, Chelsea are fighting to kick-start their contention for the EPL title while Manchester City are seeking to further assert their grip of the top.
Monday Night action kicks off at 10:45pm EAT.
Also in the Italian Serie A, AS Roma come head to head with AC Milan which is also promises to be quite a spectacle.
Be sure to catch the action live on Super Sport, your channel of champions.
See you with the post match analysis.

Lets Talk Sports.....
Basketball
Thanks be to God that the NBA lock out season is over and we can be graced with an early christmas present.
The fixture list is set to be unveiled soon as players return to their various clubs training camps and prepare for the season which is set to be much shorter than usual thanks to the lock out.
As for our local basketball here in Uganda there are quite a number of games that are set to resume tomorrow at a time yet to be communicated.
Game IV
Ladies: UCU Lady Canons vs KCC Leopards [Lady Canons leading the 7 game series 3:0]
Men:
Kyambogo Warriors vs DMark Power [Warriors lead the series 2:1]
Vegetarians vs Rez Life [Vegetarians leading the series 2:0]
City Oil vs Bush Court [Bush Court leading the series 2:0]
Game IV kicks off on Saturday afternoon at the YMCA court.
Football:
After knocking out the Kilimanjaro Stars in the semi-final, the Uganda Cranes have a well deserved rest today and tomorrow at 4pm take on the Amavubi Stars of Rwanda in what is looking like a fierce derby waiting to happen.
The Amavubi Stars are one of the most improved sides in the region and this is surely going to be end to end drama.
I am totally impressed by lads like Isaac Isinde, Emmanuel Okwi and Hamis who are playing brilliant football.
Guess its the best of luck for the Uganda Cranes.
Kick-Boxing:
Moses Golola of Uganda insist he isn't being paid for over-time and his game later on today is set to be a cracker and one to watch closely.
His antics have made him quite famous and this evening at Hotel Africana he fights for the Inter Continental title. This is not a joking subject as the tickets are expected to sell out.
The fight is also expected to air live on NTV Uganda so stay tuned.
So sorry for being out of touch but we are back and we vow to keep you up to date with whats going on in the sports arena especially locally.

KYU Warriors Trounce The UCU Canons Making A Statement
UCU Canons 67 Kyambogo Warriors 87
In what seemingly was tagged to be one of the biggest games of the weekend, didn't quite live to our expectation.
With Ivan Enabu crossing camps and seeing him clad in the Warriors outfit, questions were being asked as to how well he would co-ordinate with Ronnie Kaseu and all those questions were answered on court that day.
Ivan was brought as a substitute on the second quarter and what difference he did bring. Officially releasing Ronnie Kaseu to his favorite shooting guard role and oh my did he punish the Canons.
The quick decision making, good ball handling and athleticism he brings to the KYU Warriors side has given them another great dimension in their offensive play. They are surely going to be a force to reckon with this season.
With Mr. Stephen Okias doing what every big forward would do, and sinking double figures for the Warriors, one can wait and see how notorious these Warriors are going to be this season.
On the other side, UCU Canons bought Sudi Ulanga who with time i beleive will be a great asset to their side. Having just recovered from malaria and not trained enough with the team, we could clearly see something lacking in his game. But with that deadly cross over dribble he has and the shooting ability and command for the game, time will tell how far he goes.
Martin Okwako also another new signing from the KYU Warriors to UCU Canons had quite a balanced game cleaning up the board, holding together the defense and with his experience and balance he brings to the squad, he is quickly proving to be a great signing.
Stephen Mwesigye however did have a great game with compatriot Geoffrey Omondi all having splendid games but where i think the Canons were really hurt was on their bench.
In the off season they lost quite a number of players to other clubs and did not quite restore the gaps that were left behind by the departure of like say the Enabu brothers and i think that will prove to be a loop hole in their campaign.
